“We are wounded in relationship, and so we must heal in relationship.”
Harville Hendrix, PhD
My approach
My client-led approach is relational, emotion-focused, trauma-informed, intersectional, and attachment-oriented. I am also informed by an understanding of how social systems such as patriarchy, racism and capitalism subtly shape us. I apply a systems lens to help clients define and practice new ways of being that are truly sustainable and empowering.
With 5 years of psychotherapy training and over a decade of corporate experience, I have a specific interest and passion in working with clients experiencing burnout. Whether you experience burnout as a worker, a partner, a parent, or all of the above, I’m here to support you. I have studied the causes and impacts of burnout on individuals and communities, and I bring compassion, curiosity, and empathy to each of my clients and their unique journeys.
My choice to become a therapist is informed by my personal experience of the deeply transformative nature of a well-matched therapeutic relationship. I believe that every human being is doing their best with what they’ve been given, but also that our healing is our own responsibility. I would be honoured to support you in your journey of self-discovery, and I invite you to schedule a free consultation to see if we're a good fit.
My expertise
My specialties are burnout, anxiety, and stress. I also offer expertise in a variety of other challenges, including addiction, depression, codependency, perfectionism, infidelity, PTSD, sexual trauma, relationship issues, pregnancy, postpartum challenges, and eating disorders. Humans are complex, and we often struggle in multiple related areas. If you don’t see what you’re struggling with here, feel free to ask me in a complimentary consult.
My experience
Psychotherapy
As a trained psychotherapist, I have spent 5 years studying biological, psychological, and social components of how humans develop, live, and heal. I completed a thesis project on the causes and impacts of burnout on individuals and society in my fifth and final year of school. I have also completed 300 hours of supervised time with clients as part of my graduation requirements.
Corporate
I have worked as an individual contributor and a people manager in a variety of companies across sectors such as technology, consulting, and consumer packaged goods. I’ve worked in design, strategy, sales, marketing, and engineering, and I hold lots of empathy for what it’s like working in competitive, fast-paced environments.
Life
I draw upon my own lived experience in my work as a therapist, and switch between many different lenses including partner, mother, daughter, and sister. I’ve experienced burnout, grief, anxiety, trauma, and a variety of resulting coping mechanisms. I’ve explored my own healing with the support of a therapist for over ten years, and this work continues to this day.
